Academic Faculty Position in Journalism

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic faculty member to join our School of Journalism at San José State University. As a key member of our faculty team, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in our journalism program, as well as contributing to the development of our curriculum and research initiatives.
Responsibilities- Teach and evaluate adult learners in our journalism program, with a focus on developing the critical thinking, writing, and communication skills of our students.
- Develop and implement innovative curriculum and instructional methods that reflect the latest trends and best practices in journalism education.
- Contribute to the development of our research initiatives and scholarly activities, with a focus on advancing the field of journalism and mass communications.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the university to promote interdisciplinary learning and research opportunities.
- Master's degree with significant industry experience in journalism or a related field.
- Knowledge of the subject matter of the discipline to which the individual is assigned.
- Ability to teach and evaluate adult learners, with a focus on developing the critical thinking, writing, and communication skills of our students.
- Applicants should demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population, as reflected in their teaching philosophy and experience.
