We are seeking a skilled Obstetric Technician to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our Maternal Child Health division, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our nursing staff in labor and delivery surgical procedures.
Responsibilities- Prepare rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment for each procedure, adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
- Assist the surgical team during operative procedures, demonstrating competence and attention to detail.
- Take and record vital signs and other measurements accurately and precisely.
- Follow departmental procedures for scrubbing, hand drying, gowning, gloving, and observing for contamination and/or breaks in aseptic technique.
- Assist in the cleanup of labor and delivery rooms following deliveries and surgical procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by staff nurses.
- Surgical Technician certification or OB Technician certification.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
- One year of hospital Patient Care Technician experience preferred.
- Six months Operating Room or Labor and Delivery scrub experience preferred.
