Position Summary

H&K Group, Inc. is actively seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator specializing in rock transportation to enhance our team. The operator will manage a straight or articulated rubber-tired rock truck, utilizing a hydraulically powered bed for the effective transport and unloading of materials. A CDL license is not a prerequisite for this role.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties
  • Adhere to MSHA and H&K safety regulations at all times
  • Conduct daily pre and post-operation inspections of equipment and complete necessary documentation
  • Operate the rock truck by starting the engine, shifting gears, and maneuvering the vehicle
  • Transport materials safely and efficiently to meet production targets
  • Utilize levers to elevate and tilt the truck bed for material dumping
  • Perform routine maintenance on the rock truck, including lubrication and cleaning
  • Follow all company policies and procedures in all tasks
  • Assist with maintenance tasks as required
  • Complete additional duties as assigned
Qualifications

Essential Skills, Education, and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as GED) from an accredited institution, or one month of relevant experience and/or training
    • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Capability to fit test and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role (movement, lifting, etc.)
Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience
  • 3+ months of relevant experience
  • Experience operating heavy machinery
  • Background in quarry operations, heavy civil construction, or similar outdoor industrial environments
  • MSHA or other relevant safety certifications
