Camp Counselor

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Camp Counselor to join our team at the Jewish Alliance's Summer J-Camp. As a Camp Counselor, you will be responsible for planning, leading, and implementing activities and experiences for children in a small group setting.

• Supervise and lead a group of campers in structured and unstructured activities, acting as a guardian, friend, mentor, and disciplinarian
• Lead and assist in leading small and large group activities, including swimming and other recreational activities
• Communicate with the director and parents as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of the campers
• Set up, clean up, and maintain all indoor and outdoor spaces and equipment
• Actively supervise and ensure camper safety at all times

• Demonstrated experience working with children in an organized setting
• Background in education, experiential learning, mentoring, STEM, the arts, athletics/movement, teambuilding, and/or Jewish learning is a plus
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
• Working knowledge of the growth and development of elementary age children
• Must have or willingness to obtain Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification
• Must be 16 years old or older
