Job Overview

The Logistics Associate plays a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and reliability of all products that are received and dispatched from a designated location during their assigned shift.

In this position, the Logistics Associate will support three primary functions of the department: receiving, inventory management, and shipping operations. Adhering to company standards regarding quality assurance, safety protocols, and operational procedures is essential to ensure timely and precise shipping and receiving processes under the supervision of the location Manager.

This role reports directly to the location Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the movement of goods; managing the shipping and receiving of products.
  • Process product orders, primarily focusing on shellfish.
  • Receive, document, and distribute products that arrive at the warehouse.
  • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the stockroom and cooler.
  • Assist in logistical planning to ensure adequate storage for incoming products.
  • Keep accurate records of goods shipped and received.
  • Ensure timely delivery of the correct products to the designated locations.
  • Support local pick-up and delivery operations.
  • Contribute to maintaining quality, quantity, and customer satisfaction standards.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the coolers and warehouse.
  • Track and report to management on back-orders, short-list items, and unfulfilled orders.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in warehouse operations.
  • Experience with shellfish or seafood is advantageous.
  • Proficient in operating inventory management equipment, such as scanning devices.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
  • Capable of supporting department managers in achieving operational goals.
  • Commitment to fostering a performance-driven and safe workplace.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift weights ranging from 30 to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work up to 10 hours per day, primarily standing or walking.
  • Proficient in hand use, including grasping, fine manipulation, and pushing/pulling.
  • Ability to perform motions such as bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning agents.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, including below 32 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Willingness to work in both wet and dry conditions.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, with weekends as needed.
  • Competence in using tools and equipment, including knives.
