We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Bus Aide to join our team at Transdev in Elmira, NY. As a Bus Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our passengers, while also providing exceptional customer service.

• Monitor the welfare of passengers while in route and communicate any behavior problems or conditions of various stops with the driver.
• Assist in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Assist students in the loading and unloading process, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Cooperate and communicate with school personnel, students, and parents to provide a positive and supportive environment.
• Attend all safety and training meetings to stay up-to-date on the latest procedures and protocols.
• Conduct emergency evacuations from the bus, including the use of emergency doors.
• Perform cleaning duties, including sweeping, dusting, and cleaning windows, to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Assist the driver when necessary to safely direct the vehicle backwards.

• Good verbal communication skills to effectively interact with passengers, drivers, and school personnel.
• The ability to work early morning hours and manage high degrees of stress.
