Job Overview

ESPEC North America Inc is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer II to join our Engineering Department. As an Electrical Engineer II, you will be responsible for designing and releasing changes to existing schematic/panel layout using engineering best practices.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor degree in Electrical and 3 years' experience in electrical schematic/panel layout design. PLC ladder logic and HMI programming experience is preferred. AutoCAD Electrical experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and release changes to existing schematic/panel layout using engineering best practices.
  • Create and release models, assemblies, and schematics.
  • Understand Bill of Material structures and basic ERP function.
  • Understand the basic function of test chambers (electrical/refrigeration).
  • Design custom heater assembly using heat calculation program.
  • Basic knowledge of NEC codes and UL508A program.
  • Basic knowledge of PID controllers (SCP-220/P-300/F4T) - drawings, loading firmware, navigating HMI screens.
  • Program and troubleshoot basic PLC ladder program/HMI programs.
  • Answer questions from production (basic electrical troubleshooting) and service regarding design releases.
  • Create and write manuals.
  • Design and release basic to more complex custom modifications to a standard ENA chamber model.
  • Follow engineering group procedures and ISO standards.
  • Process a midrange ECN - new model chamber, based on previous models.
  • Calculate chamber FLA using the FLA calculation tool.
  • Understand design for manufacturing & assembly within the limitations of our manufacturing facility.
