Light Counseling is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Clinical Therapist to join our team. As a Resident Counselor, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse population of children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples.

About the Role:

  • Provide client counseling services to a varied population.
  • Deliver case management services.
  • Follow all regulations and company policies in service provision and documentation.
  • Participate in educational programs, in-service meetings, clinician meetings, and workshops to enhance professional development.
  • Participate in weekly individual and group supervision with an assigned supervisor.
  • Take initiative to link clients to other services.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed related to supervision, supervision updates, regulatory updates, etc.
  • Work with community groups around unmet and special needs and carry a special community assignment relevant to Light Counseling's mission.
  • Prepare reports and forms necessary to satisfy the agency's needs for accountability.
  • May be assigned to instruct and direct students serving psychological internships.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Counseling or Social Work or related field.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Play Therapy experience.
  • Experience working with trauma-related disorders using advanced therapy modalities.
  • Active and in-good-standing resident/supervisee license with the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
  • Complete all required background checks including drug tests.
