Medical Case Manager

CorVel Corporation is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Case Manager to join our team in San Diego. As a Medical Case Manager, you will play a vital role in facilitating the recovery of injured workers and their families.
Job Summary:We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Case Manager to work collaboratively with our team to provide exceptional care to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and case management, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:- Provide medical case management services to individuals through in-person and telephonic communications with patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
- Utilize medical and nursing knowledge to discuss treatment plans with physicians and explore alternative treatment options.
- Evaluate treatment plans for appropriateness, medical necessity, and cost-effectiveness.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient progress.
- Attend doctor's visits, hospital discharges, and other healthcare-related events to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Implement care plans, including negotiation of durable medical equipment and nursing services.
- Travel locally up to 60% of the workweek/month, with occasional overnight travel.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current RN licensure in the state of operation.
- Certification as a CCM, CIRS, or other case management certifications preferred.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to assigned locations.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
