DIMAR MANUFACTURING is seeking a skilled Grinding Operator to join our team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. As a Grinding Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining grinding and related tools to remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, sharpen edges or corners, or buff, hone, or polish metal pieces.
Key Responsibilities- Operate various grinding tools, including surface grinders, belt sanders, and polishers, to achieve precise finishes.
- Examine and inspect workpieces for defects, scratches, and imperfections.
- Move grinders over surfaces to remove scratches and imperfections, and polish ground areas with finer abrasives to produce smooth, unmarred surfaces.
- Replace worn abrasive disks, wheels, and belts, and select grade of abrasive belt, wheel, or disk according to specifications.
- Assist in other production areas as needed, and follow all safety procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a machine shop environment.
- Basic technical knowledge of grinding tools and their safe operation.
- Able to follow directions precisely and perform repetitive tasks.
The Grinding Operator will work in a machine shop environment with dust, grease, and metal shavings present. The position requires the use of personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and steel-toed shoes/boots.
