Job Summary:
MercyOne Central Iowa is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Des Moines. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments, evaluations, and therapy administration as ordered by physicians.
- Conduct diagnostic testing, implement and troubleshoot equipment, and monitor patient progress.
- Participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, assist with intubation, and manage artificial airways.
- Assemble, manipulate, and troubleshoot Respiratory Care equipment, including mechanical ventilators and pulse oximeters.
- Interpret diagnostic results, report findings, and maintain accurate records.
- Provide patient education and instruction on the use of Respiratory Care devices and procedures.
Requirements:
- Certificate of completion from an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
- Credential by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist.
- State of Iowa Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training.
