Job Summary

The Physical Therapist is responsible for implementing physician-ordered physical therapy services. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive physical therapy care to facilitate patients' return to independent and safe lifestyles. This role requires a growth and development knowledge base to care for pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients. The Physical Therapist must demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care, assess patient status, and interpret relevant information to identify each patient's needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement physician-ordered physical therapy services
  • Provide comprehensive physical therapy care to facilitate patients' return to independent and safe lifestyles
  • Care for pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients
  • Assess patient status and interpret relevant information to identify each patient's needs
  • Document patient care in the Electronic Medical Record
  • Use critical thinking to evaluate patients and develop treatment plans
  • Utilize various modalities, including ultrasound, iontophoresis, and electrical stimulation
  • Perform patient evaluations using functional tests and measures
  • Construct short-term and long-term goals with patients and families
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide patient-centered care
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an approved physical therapy program
  • Permanent License as a Physical Therapist from the Mississippi State Board of Physical Therapy
  • Basic Life Support certification
