The HSI team is a fast-paced team of architects, data engineers, and software engineers that builds, runs, and operates the back end and reporting data operations to support customer acquisition and analysis.

As a software Engineer Intern on this team, you will define and engineer solutions that serve the larger business. Your main responsibilities will be managing and implementing data & software solutions to meet business needs and ensure our pipelines become more performant, scalable, and reliable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quickly get up to speed on assigned codebase, product area, or system to develop and deliver production-ready code.
  • Analyze problem statements, propose efficient solutions, and consider trade-offs and edge cases.
  • Communicate clearly and efficiently with various stakeholders.
  • Collaborate in an agile environment to produce high-quality software.

What It Takes

Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Java, Python, C++, or C#, with an emphasis on object-oriented design. Experience with PySpark, Python, and Databricks is a significant plus. Knowledge or certification in AWS is a plus. Previous software engineering experience through internships, work, coding competitions, or publications is highly valued.

Benefits

  • Estimated salary: $20-$40 per hour.
  • Relocation assistance may be provided to program participants who reside more than 50 miles from the internship location.
  • At least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must have graduated within the last 12-months, OR be actively enrolled in a Bachelors or Graduate degree program.
  • Employees of T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile are ineligible for Internships.
