Salary Range

The hiring range for this position is $29.15 - $51.68 per hour, providing a competitive compensation package.

 

Job Description

As a Radiologic Technologist at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, you will operate conventional, fluoroscopic, and portable radiology equipment to obtain routine radiographs of designated body areas according to physician specification and radiographic protocols.

You will prepare patients for radiograph, lift them onto and off examination tables, properly position them for X-ray exams, adjust immobilization devices, and affix radiation shielding.

You will also assist in the administration of drugs and/or contrast agents, calculate and select proper technical factors, use correct film/screen combinations, process and develop film, and enter data into the Radiology Information System (RIS) for medical records, billing, statistics, and quality assurance purposes.

In addition, you will provide guidance to radiology students as needed, maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensure the exam room contains the proper supplies, perform various clerical tasks, and report equipment malfunctions to supervisory personnel.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have a High School Diploma or GED, an Associate degree in applied science preferred, previous job experience, and ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) certification within 1 year of hire date.
