Job Title: Travel ICU RN

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (ICU RN) to join our team as a travel nurse. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Job Summary:

The ICU RN will be responsible for evaluating and monitoring patients in an Intensive Care Unit setting, providing direct care to patients in life-threatening situations, documenting and providing physician-directed care, assessing and implementing patient care plans, and delegating to other care providers as appropriate. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide basic bedside care to patients in the ICU.
  • Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
  • Order and evaluate diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging studies.
  • Take samples for lab work, order corresponding lab work, and interpret reports.
  • Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, and interpret and record electronic displays.
  • Ensure proper placement and functioning of catheters, leads, and tubing.
  • Communicate patients' conditions to family members and provide education and support as needed.
Requirements:
  • Current RN licensure in the state of California.
  • 1-2 years of recent acute care experience in an ICU setting.
  • ACLS and BLS certification.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
