Job Title: Quality Control Manager

At Bowhead, we are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Manager to join our team. As a Quality Control Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that our construction projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise on-site work to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are met
  • Develop and implement quality control plans to ensure project success
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met
  • Identify and report any quality or safety issues to management
Requirements:
  • Thorough knowledge of construction materials and practices
  • Extensive knowledge of building codes and standards, inspection techniques, and codes
  • Graduate Mechanical Engineer or Graduate Construction Manager with 2 years related experience or Individual with 5 years of related experience
  • Ability to pass a Federal Background check and gain access to a DoD facility
  • Valid driver's license
  • Basic understanding of construction scheduling
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare work plans, daily reports, inspection reports, prepare submittals and review submittals
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA construction regulations
  • Understanding of basic mathematics
  • Ability to be flexible and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Proven decisiveness and ability to work well under pressure, particularly when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays
  • Ability to coordinate several major activities at once, while analyzing and resolving specific problems
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering, architectural, other construction drawings, and specifications
  • Familiarity with computers and software programs including Microsoft Office
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to establish a good working relationship with many different people, including owners, other managers, designers, supervisors, and craft workers
  • Ability to work more than a standard 40-hour week when the project schedule dictates
  • Good physical condition in order to walk and climb about construction and building sites
  • Familiarity with Corps of Engineers 3-Phase Inspection procedures
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Aviation fuel system and/or tank construction, maintenance or repair knowledge
Working Conditions:

The Quality Control Manager will work in a fast-paced construction environment, with frequent travel to project sites. The position requires the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and to walk and climb about construction and building sites.

The Quality Control Manager will be required to travel 100% of the time, and will be based in the Southwest United States with an emphasis on working on Native American Lands and Reservations.

The employee must possess a valid driver's license and pass Smith Driver Training within one year of hire. Individuals with one or more serious violations (DUI/DWI) shall not be authorized to drive vehicles, including company, personal or rental cars to conduct company business.

All employees must pass Non-DOT pre-employment drug screening and follow all UIC Non-DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program guidelines and requirements. If working on a DOT project, employees must pass a DOT pre-employment drug screening and follow all DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program requirements.
