Firefighter - Paramedic Specialist

This position plays a critical role in responding to fire and emergency incidents to protect lives and property in Camden County, GA. As a Firefighter - Paramedic, you will be responsible for suppressing fires, rescuing victims, providing emergency medical care, and performing other duties as required.

• Respond to fire calls and use firefighting skills to evaluate and carry out actions to control emergencies efficiently.
• Operate a variety of pumps, ladders, hoses, and other equipment at emergency scenes.
• Provide emergency medical care at emergency and non-emergency scenes at the Paramedic level.
• Complete required reports detailing fire, emergency medical, and other incident responses.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and vehicles to ensure proper functioning.
• Participate in public education events and provide fire prevention information to the public.

• Knowledge of firefighting standards, practices, strategies, and equipment.
• Knowledge of emergency medical standards, practices, strategies, and equipment.
• Knowledge of rules, regulations, and standard operating procedures of the department.
• Possession of state EMS certification at the Paramedic level.
• Ability to meet current requirements set forth by the National Fire Protection Association and the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Act.

The work is typically performed in an office, except while at fire or other emergency scenes. The employee may be exposed to machinery with moving parts, irritating chemicals, extreme temperatures, hazardous situations, and inclement weather.
