About Us

The City of Decatur is seeking a highly skilled Part-time Certified Firefighters to join our team. As an Emergency Response Specialist, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical care and fighting fires in a fast-paced environment.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emergency medical care and fight fires as part of a team
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections to ensure readiness
  • Perform fire prevention activities, including building inspections and education programs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals
Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid State of Georgia Driver's License or ability to obtain
  • Certified as a Fire Fighter EMT-I or higher
  • Able to lift and carry heavy objects (51-100 lbs.) and work in hazardous conditions
