Dialysis Technician

Fresenius Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Patient Care Specialist to join our team. As a Patient Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.

• Patient Care
  • Assist patients with their dialysis treatment, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
  • Evaluate patients' vascular access and perform cannulation as needed.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the nursing staff.
  • Provide education to patients and their families on dialysis treatment and related health issues.
• Treatment Preparation
  • Prepare dialysis machines and equipment for treatment, ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
  • Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders and patient needs.
  • Monitor treatment progress and make adjustments as necessary.
• Documentation and Communication
  • Accurately document patient treatment information, including vital signs, treatment parameters, and any notable events.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care.
• Quality and Safety
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Identify and report any safety concerns or incidents to the nursing staff.

• Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience
  • At least five years of patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred.
• Certifications
  • Valid PCT national certification or state-specific certification required.
