Job Summary

This role involves diagnosing, reproducing, and providing solutions to customer-reported problems with our NetApp products. You'll work closely with Data Ontap, the leading storage operating system in the industry.

Your primary focus areas will be in diagnosing, reproducing, and providing solutions in the WAFL subsystem of Data Ontap. Additionally, you'll collaborate with other engineers to debug and identify the root cause of filesystem problems and develop action plans as needed.

You'll also contribute to the development of software fixes or enhancements to Data Ontap.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose, reproduce, and provide solutions to customer-reported problems in the WAFL subsystem of Data Ontap.
  • Collaborate with support personnel, escalation managers, and customers to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Develop and communicate action plans as necessary.
  • Contribute to the development of software fixes or enhancements to Data Ontap.
Requirements
  • Motivated self-starter with strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with operating system software development at the kernel level.
  • Programming skills in C, debugging with GDB, and script programming in shell, Perl, or Python.
  • Proven aptitude for learning new technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills to work through complex issues.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.

Compensation Package

The estimated salary range for this position is $139,000 - $195,000, depending on qualifications, experience, and education. Our comprehensive benefits package includes Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, and/or restricted stocks (RSU's).
