Position Overview:

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for the effective maintenance, repair, and replacement of plant machinery and systems, ensuring optimal production efficiency and quality. This role is integral in supporting the company's strategic objectives and operational policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in setting objectives, developing plans, and conducting performance evaluations for the facility.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager to drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhance operational efficiencies, and uphold safety standards.
  • Establish and oversee a maintenance program aligned with industry best practices and manufacturer guidelines, focusing on preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Manage inventory levels of spare parts and maintenance supplies, ensuring timely reordering.
  • Oversee the maintenance shop's equipment and ensure its proper functioning.
  • Implement a computerized maintenance management system to track work orders and maintenance history.
  • Analyze operational data and prepare reports to recommend enhancements for plant performance.
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of maintenance staff.
  • Supervise maintenance and janitorial teams, ensuring adherence to performance standards.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews for maintenance personnel, assessing their contributions towards departmental goals.
  • Ensure maintenance technicians receive adequate training and resources to perform their duties safely and effectively.
  • Maintain open communication with maintenance staff to address issues and align on company objectives.
  • Regularly review plant operations to minimize downtime and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor and enhance key maintenance metrics such as asset utilization and maintenance costs.
  • Adhere to safety, health, and environmental regulations, including OSHA standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations affecting the maintenance department.
  • Foster a culture of safety and accountability within the maintenance team.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Plan and prioritize maintenance tasks to optimize departmental efficiency.
  • Complete required training and adhere to all company policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with PLC I/O systems and knowledge of VFD and motor control.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work extended hours as needed.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks including lifting and operating machinery.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying conditions.
  • Must possess the ability to use personal protective equipment.

Working Environment:

Employees may encounter various conditions typical of an industrial manufacturing facility, including exposure to moving parts, noise, and temperature fluctuations.
