Food Processing Supervisor 2nd Shift Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Processing Supervisor to join our team at Michael Foods, Inc. in Britt, Iowa. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the production processes and ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Production Oversight: Provide direction and supervision to production staff to ensure that company policies, procedures, and government laws are followed.
- Quality Control: Ensure that the highest quality product is produced at the lowest possible cost consistent with good manufacturing practices.
- Safety and Compliance: Provide a safe work environment for all personnel and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Problem-Solving: Recognize and take steps to resolve operation problems in order to minimize their impact on the operations.
- Team Leadership: Cooperate with all departments to assure a coordinated work relationship exists at all times.
- Cost Management: Responsible for ingredient usage and all other department costs.
- Record Keeping: Keep accurate and up-to-date records (i.e. timecards, downtime records, absentee records, etc).
- Policy Enforcement: Enforce company policies in a fair and consistent manner.
- Employee Development: Encourage suggestions from employees which will improve production, quality, safety, and/or control costs of production.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Education: Associates degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
- Experience: 2+ years supervisory experience in food manufacturing environment with progressive leadership responsibility.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
