Assistant Librarian

We are seeking a highly skilled Liaison Librarian to join our team at the University of Central Missouri. As a key member of our library staff, you will be responsible for developing and promoting library activities and services that support the teaching, learning, and research needs of our campus community.

• Develop and promote library information resources and services to faculty and students in assigned areas.
• Teach credit-bearing courses as available and qualifications allow.
• Teach information literacy to students in assigned areas through embedded librarianship.
• Initiate and maintain contacts with faculty members in assigned areas for the purpose of curriculum mapping, instructional development, and collection management.
• Provide research consultations to the UCM community supporting scholarship in a variety of contexts.
• Create learning tools connecting students and faculty with the information they need.
• Develop, present, and promote library workshops.
• Manage collections in assigned areas in all formats, including the development of the collection, periodic review of collection content, and alignment of the collection to the UCM curriculum.

• Master's degree from an ALA-accredited program in library or information science or equivalent degree.
• One year of full-time equivalent academic library experience, including some combined experience in providing research services, instruction, and developing online instructional tools.
• Experience managing collections in the subject liaison area(s) preferred.
• Knowledge of a university environment, human relations, and interpersonal skills.
