Position Overview
This full-time, on-site role is for a Construction Superintendent who will be required to travel to various job sites as necessary. The Traveling Construction Superintendent will oversee construction operations, ensuring safety protocols are followed, organizing project tasks, managing budgets, and directing project management efforts.
- Assist in developing the overall Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule and manage it throughout the construction phase, including creating and maintaining a 2-3 week look-ahead schedule.
- Prepare essential documentation such as Daily Reports, Time Sheets, and Work Orders.
- Develop and uphold the site logistics plan for each project.
- Conduct constructability reviews to ensure project feasibility.
- Lead daily meetings with subcontractors and tradespeople on-site.
- Facilitate foreman's meetings to discuss project progress.
- Possess knowledge of construction methods and verify compliance with plans, specifications, and tolerances.
- Issue and follow up on Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and as-built documentation.
- Administer the safety program for the project to ensure a secure working environment.
- Implement quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Document and address all punch list items promptly.
- Schedule, conduct, and manage inspections by city officials and deputies.
Required Qualifications
- Expertise in Construction Site Management, Safety Protocols, and Organizational Skills.
- Experience in Budgeting and Project Management.
- Strong communication and leadership capabilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Bi-lingual candidates are a plus.
- Strong customer focus and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Adept at defining objectives, understanding target audiences, leading productive meetings, and fostering team morale.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in the construction industry.
- Experience managing projects valued over $30 million.
- Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and mobile technology.
- Experience with construction projects, including mechanical and electrical systems, building materials, rough carpentry, and high-end finishes.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, manuals, and engineering/architectural drawings.
- Familiarity with building codes and regulations.
- OSHA 30 certification is required.
- Previous experience in hotel renovations and tenant improvements is advantageous.
