SELECTION CRITERIA

To be eligible for this position, candidates must be current State of Connecticut employees with a minimum of six months of full-time service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise the dining service operations, ensuring high standards of sanitation and cleanliness;
  • Schedule, assign, and review staff work;
  • Provide training and support to team members;
  • Conduct performance evaluations and manage staff development;
  • Establish and maintain dining room procedures and policies;
  • Monitor food production and safety standards;
  • Ensure compliance with dietary requirements and temperature controls;
  • Oversee inventory management and supply availability;
  • Address client feedback and implement corrective actions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should possess:

  • Four years of experience in large-scale food preparation or service;
  • Two years of supervisory experience in a relevant capacity;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Knowledge of food service operations and safety regulations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • ServeSafe Certification;
  • Experience in a skilled nursing facility;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for operational communication and data tracking.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must demonstrate adequate physical stamina and agility to perform job duties effectively.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Incumbents may encounter risks associated with kitchen equipment and client interactions.
