Position Overview

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Hematology-Oncology Physician to provide comprehensive care in a full-time locum capacity. This role encompasses both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, managing a typical caseload of approximately 15 patients daily.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in patient care with a focus on hematology and oncology.
  • Optional bone marrow biopsies, preferred for candidates with experience.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM.
  • On-call duties include one weekend per month, primarily via phone.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology-Oncology.
  • ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications are mandatory.
  • Willingness to obtain licensure if not currently held.

Practice Environment:

  • Community-based cancer center equipped with 18 chemotherapy infusion chairs and 2 non-chemotherapy infusion chairs.
  • Support staff includes RNs, MAs, and advanced practice providers, with 2 NPs in their initial year of practice.
  • Utilization of Cerner EMR for patient charting.

Additional Insights:

  • The department comprises 2 MDs and 3 NPs, with radiation oncology services available on-site.
  • The physician will be responsible for consulting with both outpatient and hospitalized patients.
  • The ideal candidate should be available for ongoing coverage and open to outreach efforts to nearby clinics.
