Job Summary

Fresenius Medical Care North America is seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with hemodialysis treatment, including setting up and operating dialysis machines, monitoring vital signs, and providing emotional support.
  • Conduct vascular access evaluations and report any unusual findings to the nurse supervisor.
  • Administer heparin as delegated or as allowed by state law.
  • Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders and monitor patients' response to treatment.
  • Document patient information, including treatment data and vital signs, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and support.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; certification in patient care or a related field preferred.
  • Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and move patients and equipment as needed.
