Technologists are expected to exhibit strong clinical competencies and deliver the highest quality images for diagnostic interpretation. Always adheres to Corewell Health's philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Conducts quality Mammography examinations following verification of patient identity, physician orders, and accurate exam charges in the electronic health record system. Demonstrates proficiency in operating Mammography imaging devices.
Ensures the acquisition of optimal images by employing appropriate techniques for patient positioning during screening, tomography, diagnostic exams, and invasive mammography procedures.
Monitors patients throughout procedures to guarantee their safety. Engages in ongoing professional development in line with ARRT requirements.Familiarity with hospital computer systems for billing, scheduling, and PACS for efficient information transmission is essential.
Communicates effectively on both inter- and intra-departmental levels with administrative personnel, medical staff, and colleagues. Responsible for cleaning and restocking examination rooms, storage areas, and maintaining departmental cleanliness.STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:
To successfully perform this role, an individual must be capable of executing each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Education / Training:
- Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program
Work Experience:
1-3 years of experience beyond the staff radiographer level is preferred.
Certification, Licensure, Registration:
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); Additional Mammography (ARRT)(M) certification is required within one year of employment.
Other Qualifications:
Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers at hire through the American Heart Association and/or the American Red Cross.
