About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Koch Industries. As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the profitable execution of purchasing and inventory strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Procurement and Inventory Management: Ensure adherence to all safety, environmental, and purchasing policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Purchasing System Utilization: Utilize the company's purchasing system to process purchase orders from requisitions.
- Contractual Document Review: Confirm the contractual document accurately reflects the terms and conditions of purchase, including payment terms, freight terms, incoterms, and other key commercial terms.
- Supplier Selection and Negotiation: Issue requests for quotations, analyze and evaluate quotes, negotiate price and terms, and exercise independent judgment to select suppliers based on lowest total cost of ownership.
- Strategic Supply Agreements: Remain knowledgeable of company's strategic supply agreements and utilize these to maximize value.
- Customer Focus and Communication: Demonstrate a high level of customer focus and sense of urgency. Use strong verbal and written communication skills to solve problems and provide status updates to customers and suppliers.
- Accounts Payable Management: Analyze the root causes of accounts payable exceptions; resolve and prevent going forward.
- Process Improvement: Initiate changes to improve the effectiveness of the purchasing process.
- Time Management and Prioritization: Manage time to accomplish goals and prioritize a variety of tasks.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Proactively collaborate and partner with key stakeholders, including Operations, Reliability, Maintenance, and Category Buyer, Sourcing and Inventory Management teams.
- Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Utilize critical thinking skills to identify, analyze, and execute on opportunities to streamline processes and achieve the lowest total cost of ownership on projects, storeroom inventory, and other purchases.
- Experience: At least three years of relevant storeroom, supply chain, inventory management, and procurement experience.
- Mentoring and Leadership: Experience in mentoring peers/employees.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Teams, etc.
- Inventory Management: Inventory or storeroom management experience, including experience with an inventory management computer system.
- Data Analytics: Experience using data analytics tools and interpreting data for decision making.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain and/or Inventory Management.
- Industry Experience: Experience in a manufacturing, military, warehouse, or other relevant industrial environment.
- Procurement and Inventory Transformation: Demonstrated experience in driving procurement and inventory transformation and implementing changes.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrated experience in partnering with key internal stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
