Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Shuttle Driver to join our team at Performance Food Group. As a Shuttle Driver, you will be responsible for driving tandem trailers, tractor trailers, and/or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes to transport empty trailers to PFG warehouse locations and deliver full trailers with various food products to domicile/shuttle yard locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all required safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections, to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards.
  • Drive and deliver trailers according to predetermined route schedules, following all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
  • Inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight, ensuring all required route paperwork is available to the driver upon dispatch.
  • Collect and secure damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailers to bring back to the driver check-in at the base facility and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Complete daily records of hours of service and enter in logs in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractors, loading dock areas, and keep trailers clear and clean as required.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
  • 12 months commercial driving experience
  • Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • Pass pre-employment drug test
  • Pass road test
  • Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years commercial driving experience
  • Foodservice distribution industry experience
  • Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (i.e. PeopleNet)
  • Hand-held point of delivery scanning system experience (i.e. POD)
