Key Responsibilities

As an Oncology Nurse Patient Advocate, you will be an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, serving as an educator and supporter for cancer patients from diagnosis through the conclusion of active treatment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Advocating for patients throughout their treatment journey.
  • Assessing patients' medical, social, and emotional needs and connecting them with appropriate resources.
  • Providing education and support to empower patients and their families in managing healthcare needs.
  • Conducting follow-up communications with patients to address any concerns or changes in their condition.
Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Three to five years of experience in oncology nursing.
  • Preferred experience in program development.
  • Experience as a nurse navigator or patient educator in oncology is advantageous.
  • Leadership and customer service experience are preferred.
Education Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is mandatory.
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification is preferred or in progress.
