Job SummaryThe Nights and Weekends Registered Nurse is responsible for supervising LPNs, CNAs, and Continuous Care RNs/LPNs. This role requires at least one year of staff nurse experience in a comparable setting/unit, with hospice and/or palliative care experience being strongly preferred.
Responsibilities- Supervise LPNs, CNAs, and Continuous Care RNs/LPNs
- Provide exceptional patient care and a high level of customer service
- Work collaboratively with physicians, payers, patients, and co-workers to achieve our mission
- Manage multiple tasks and stressful situations with a positive attitude
- Perform thorough (telephonic) nursing assessments and recognize stress caused by working with dying patients and their families
- At least one year of staff nurse experience in a comparable setting/unit
- Hospice and/or palliative care experience is strongly preferred
- Licensure from the governing body for practice for the District of Columbia, State of Maryland, and/or the Commonwealth of Virginia, based on the state/jurisdiction of practice
- Healthcare Provider BLS (CPR) is required to practice in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia
- BSN degree
- CHPN certification
This role requires working in a business office with computers, printers, copy/fax machines, and telephones. The noise level in the work environment is usually light to moderate. Occasionally required to drive to alternate work locations.
This position requires consent to drug and/or alcohol testing after a conditional offer of employment is made, as well as on-going compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Policy.
