The Pharmacy Technician is a vital member of the NCH Healthcare System team, responsible for supporting the pharmacist in accordance with Florida law. This role involves a range of tasks, including medication order entry, delivery, and AcuDose operation, as well as inventory management, computer/printer operation and maintenance, and crediting returned medications.
Key Responsibilities- Fills stock requisitions and patient medication orders accurately, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- Performs AcuDose operations (refills, returns, reports, etc.) without discrepancies/errors, maintaining high levels of accuracy and productivity.
- Completes computer functions (Powerchart/PharmNet, print operation, charges/credits) accurately and efficiently, minimizing errors and maximizing productivity.
- Completes assigned tasks in a reasonable time frame, demonstrating strong work habits and a commitment to generating the optimum level of productivity within the department.
- Provides assistance to other pharmacy areas when requested, accepting and completing assignments delegated by Pharmacy Management.
- Provides accurate information to callers and relays questions to pharmacists, offering constructive suggestions and feedback.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the automation system (Robot, Connect RX, Med Carousel, NarcStation), ensuring seamless integration and operation.
- Compounds IV admixtures accurately using appropriate aseptic technique, possessing working knowledge of IV automation systems.
- Assists pharmacy technician supervisor with training new staff, ensuring a smooth transition and effective onboarding process.
- Maintains national pharmacy technician certification and IV competencies, qualifying for hourly stipend payment.
- Pharmacy Technician certification
- One-year formal education or training beyond High School
- Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
- Good math and communication skills required
- Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician in the State of Florida
