About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Juvenile Assessment Specialist to join our team at the Jefferson County Juvenile Assessment Center.

Job Summary

This is an introductory/intermediate level position responsible for assessing, referring, and supporting youth and families in the community. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate assessments and interviews to determine appropriate services/interventions.
  • Provide screening to determine if youth are eligible to be detained.
  • Communicate with partnering agencies to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Supervise youth while at the JCJAC and provide support during field contacts and home visits.
  • Maintain accurate records and notes, and compose reports based on assessments, interviews, and collateral information.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
