Job Description

The Cleveland Clinic is seeking an experienced Emergency Unit Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the emergency unit, including responding to patient inquiries, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring smooth operational flow.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, visitors, and employees.
  • Conduct in-person greetings, welcome, and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.
  • Respond to patient call lights in a timely manner and ensure appropriate follow-through.
  • Makes rounds on patients throughout their hospitalization and communicates with patients, families, other departments, and healthcare team members regarding patient care.
  • Assists with processing patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Provides concierge service to assist patients and families with wayfinding and directs them to available resources.
  • Assembles and maintains patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service-related role. Prior job experience with typing or computer training or equivalent coursework is preferred. Microsoft Office experience is also desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is approximately $45,000-$55,000 per annum, based on location and experience. The Cleveland Clinic offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
