POSITION SUMMARY

The role of the Voice Instructor involves providing specialized instruction in applied voice for both undergraduate music majors and non-majors. This position emphasizes performance, recruitment, and educational engagement within the music community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver applied voice instruction to students across various levels of experience.
  • Participate in solo and collaborative faculty performances to enhance the department's visibility.
  • Evaluate student progress through participation in instrumental juries at the conclusion of each semester.
  • Engage with local high schools and music events to recruit prospective students and serve as a clinician.
  • Attend departmental meetings and contribute to discussions as necessary.
  • Participate in vocal convocations and juries for applied voice students at the end of each semester.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Master's Degree in Music is required, along with substantial experience in performance and education.
  • All voice types are welcome to apply.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching at the collegiate level is essential.
  • A strong grasp of vocal pedagogy is necessary for effective instruction.
  • Competency in piano is required to support vocal instruction.
