Airport Planner

This position serves as a planner responsible for various airport and aviation planning activities for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The job involves reviewing airport and aviation planning documents, coordinating findings with experienced planners or managers, and performing a combination of routine and multiple assignments under the general direction of a manager or project/program manager.

• Reviews airport master plans prepared by airport sponsors, state aeronautical agencies, and metropolitan planning agencies.
• Provides initial review of Airport Layout Plans prepared by airport sponsors.
• Collects and performs initial review of sponsor submittals for the development of the Airport Capital Improvement Program (ACIP).
• Assists environmental specialists in the collection of data and develops documents required for satisfying requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act and other environmental programs.
• Coordinates with compliance specialists to ensure compliance with applicable Grant Assurances.

• US Citizenship is required.
• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• This position has a positive education requirement.
• Qualifications include at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-F, FG/GS-5-9 levels.
