Correctional Nurse Job Details

American Medical Staffing is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join our corrections medical team in Burkeville, Virginia.

This facility is a level 3 security men's state prison. There is also a low-security work center on site.

Correctional RN Job Requirements:

  • Pay Rate: $1,328 to $1,548 per week
  • Schedule: 8a-8:30p
  • Available Shift: Days, 3 shifts per week
  • Located In: Burkeville, Virginia
  • Requirements: Qualified applicants MUST have at least 1-2 years of experience, preferably in a corrections or similar setting, have a valid RN license and be willing to obtain VA and/or compact licensure.

As a Registered Nurse in a correctional care setting, you'll play a crucial role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to incarcerated individuals, promoting their well-being and rehabilitation.

This position works in partnership with a team of correctional staff and allows you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Assessing patient health status, developing care plans, and implementing nursing interventions as needed
  • Administering medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols
  • Monitoring patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatment, adjusting care plans as necessary
  • Collaborating with healthcare team members, correctional staff, and community resources to ensure continuity of care
  • Documenting patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely
