The Mathematics Educator will be responsible for delivering foundational math instruction and training to students within the Career Education Center. This role involves creating personalized achievement plans and academic objectives to ensure students excel in their educational journey. Collaboration with Career Technical Training (CTT) Instructors is essential to integrate applied academics into CTT curricula, thereby enhancing student learning and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruction:
    • Design, prepare, and present engaging lessons that align with curriculum standards and educational objectives.
    • Promote a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student involvement and interaction.
    • Employ diverse teaching methods and resources to cater to various learning preferences.
  • Curriculum Design:
    • Work collaboratively with the educational team to create and revise curriculum materials that adhere to industry standards and educational criteria.
    • Incorporate real-life scenarios and practical applications into lesson plans to enhance relevance and comprehension.
  • Evaluation and Assessment:
    • Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress and modify teaching strategies as needed.
    • Provide constructive feedback to students regarding their academic performance and suggest areas for improvement.
  • Student Assistance:
    • Provide additional support to students who may need extra help in understanding academic concepts.
    • Collaborate with fellow instructors and support personnel to address individual student challenges and needs.
  • Professional Growth:
    • Stay updated on current educational trends, teaching strategies, and developments within the industry.
    • Engage in professional development opportunities and training to enhance teaching capabilities and knowledge.

Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required; Master's degree is preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification in RI is mandatory.
  • Prior teaching experience or familiarity with Job Corps is highly desirable.
  • Physical demands include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching.
