Position Overview

The Securities Operations division is integral to the investment lifecycle, overseeing a variety of asset strategies including fixed income, private equity, and commercial mortgage loans. The Director of Securities Operations - Private Assets will be tasked with managing essential daily operations for the firm's diverse portfolio, which is managed both internally and externally. This role encompasses the oversight of operational processes related to private equity, private debt, and other non-public investment products. The successful candidate will ensure the precise processing, settlement, and reporting of transactions while maintaining compliance documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage daily activities concerning private assets, including trade settlements, drawdowns, and interest payments.
  • Maintain accurate records of private asset holdings, perform valuation assessments, and ensure compliance with documentation requirements.
  • Conduct daily reconciliations of loan positions and cash across the private asset portfolio.
  • Review new transactions in the loan management system to verify accuracy.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with clients, agents, and custodian banks.
  • Collaborate effectively with front, middle, and back office teams, as well as corporate partners.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance operational processes to improve efficiency and security in private asset management.
  • Lead and mentor a team of analysts, fostering their professional development.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience in private asset investment.
OR

• Master’s degree, MBA, ASA, or FSA with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Preferred:

• Advanced degrees or relevant professional designations.

• Knowledge of the reinsurance or insurance sectors.

• Familiarity with the BlackRock Aladdin trade order management system and ClearPar.

• Experience with established loan management systems.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Proficient understanding of loan markets and credit agreements, utilizing relevant systems for operations.

• Knowledgeable in the settlements process, ensuring accuracy in documentation and collaboration with various stakeholders.

• Technologically adept with skills in programming and process automation.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and adapting to new methods under pressure.

• Advanced communication skills, both oral and written.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to departmental projects.

• Skilled in translating business needs into effective solutions.

• Strong customer relationship management and change management skills.

• Capable of liaising across various operational and technical disciplines.
