Our client is a highly respected, 5th generation family-owned construction company with offices in Milwaukee and Madison, Wisconsin. They operate under two main principles: treating every employee as family and providing first-class service to clients on high-level projects.
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction process from start to finish, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management: Develop strong relationships with clients, design partners, and project stakeholders by understanding their business priorities, making regular site visits, and facilitating communication within the project team.
- Project Management: Assist in the construction management process for assigned projects, involving tasks such as reviewing client contracts, participating in preconstruction and bidding, overseeing submittals and RFIs, managing purchases, resolving subcontractor issues, analyzing self-perform activities, and leading project closeouts.
- Cost and Labor Management: Actively monitor and manage job cost and labor production, participating in recurring meetings with project executives to discuss project financials.
- Risk Management: Vigilantly track project cash flow, billings, and negotiate Potential Change Items (PCIs).
- Schedule Management: Create and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment of activities and team members.
- Project Success: Monitor project success, adjusting plans in response to challenges and milestones, and communicates changes to the project team.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in construction project management, with experience in both change orders and hard-bid estimates.
- Skills: Working knowledge of skilled trades including carpentry, masonry, concrete work, site excavation and grading, plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, and electrical. Knowledge in commercial construction technology. Proficient in reviewing and understanding all construction documents including specifications and drawings.
- Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills with parties including management, subcontractors, consultants, architects, vendors, and clients.
- Financial Skills: Experience leading financials.
Compensation and Benefits:
