Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including but not limited to:
    • Personal hygiene assistance (bathing, grooming, and toileting)
    • Mobility support
    • Meal assistance
    • Getting dressed
    • Shaving assistance
  • Prepare meals and snacks as per client specifications.
  • Carry out specific tasks as directed by a nurse, which may include:
    • Changing ostomy appliances
    • Reinforcing dressings
    • Supporting prescribed exercise routines
    • Measuring and preparing special dietary needs
    • Monitoring vital signs
    • Applying external catheters
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, such as:
    • Vacuuming and dusting
    • Cleaning floors and surfaces
    • Washing dishes
    • Changing bed linens
    • Doing laundry
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Minimum of six months experience in a personal care role within healthcare settings.
  • Completion of a Competency Evaluation that complies with state regulations for home health agencies.
  • Current CPR certification is recommended.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Completion of 75 hours of technical training, covering:
    • Vital signs monitoring
    • Blood glucose level checks
    • Urine testing for sugar and acetone
