Mobile Equipment Technician

Job Summary:
The Mobile Service Mechanic is a critical role within Home Depot's operations, responsible for maintaining a fleet of rental equipment at various store locations and customer job sites. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on rental equipment to ensure safe operation and rental readiness.
- Conduct minor repairs on equipment and order necessary parts to maintain a high level of fleet availability.
- Respond to service calls and provide technical support to customers and Home Depot store associates.
- Utilize company technology platforms to document work performed, including labor and parts.
- Assist with equipment deliveries and pickups as required.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job preferred.
- 3+ years of experience servicing construction equipment, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor mechanical repairs.
- Light construction equipment maintenance knowledge and/or skills, including small engines and hydraulics.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide excellent customer service.
Working Conditions:
The Mobile Service Mechanic will work in a variety of environments, including Home Depot store locations, customer job sites, and company yards. The position requires intermittent periods of physical exertion, including walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting equipment or materials. The employee must be able to work in a comfortable environment with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort, such as dust, fumes, or odors.
