Position: Scheduling Analyst

Company: New York Independent System Operator (NYISO)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Validate day-ahead transactions with external control entities.
  • Supervise the Transmission Outage scheduling database and coordinate facility outages with Transmission Owners and adjacent control areas.
  • Examine and coordinate transmission outages to uphold system reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO short-term reliability standards by managing generating resource outage requests.
  • Create capacity resource plans across various time frames to guarantee availability for load objectives.
  • Adhere to NERC Transaction Information System and Tagging Procedure.
  • Inform relevant stakeholders of energy procurement requirements.
  • Assist in compiling information for regulatory submissions and audits.
  • Disseminate real-time informational updates.
  • Support unit acceptance testing for software enhancements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in power system operations and dispatching is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills are essential.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude for calculations and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Experience with scheduling and energy management software is advantageous.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The role involves talking, hearing, standing, walking, sitting, and performing office tasks. Some lifting may be necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level is moderate, with expected interaction with staff and the public. Travel and non-standard working hours may be necessary.
