Hotel Equities, a leading hotel development and hospitality management company, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Crowne Plaza in Virginia Beach, VA.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the overall operation of the maintenance department and the appearance and working order of the hotel. This includes the administration of the company's maintenance and life safety programs, including purchasing, preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, hotel security, and life safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure customer satisfaction at all times, modeling and adhering to the Guest Service Standards
  • Ensure compliance with all company, state, local, and federal policies and guidelines pertaining to the maintenance of a clean, safe environment for associates, guests, and vendors
  • Ensure proper operations of the hotel's equipment and systems, including life safety, telecommunications, key control, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, pool, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, and any other related systems and equipment
  • Ensure maintenance request orders are handled in a prompt and courteous manner, including logging and follow-up
  • Communicate with Assistant General Manager, OM, and/or General Manager on a regular basis regarding the specific and overall condition of the building structure(s) and related systems
  • Supervise any external contractors who may be employed by the hotel to carry out maintenance work
  • Adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt processes and standards
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
  • Basic computational ability and basic computer skills
  • Preferred knowledge of all types of mechanical equipment, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations
