This dual-function role encompasses responsibilities as both a bus operator and an educational assistant, ensuring the safe transportation of students while supporting their educational needs.


Bus Operator Responsibilities:

  • Safely navigate the designated routes according to the established schedule for student transportation.
  • Conduct thorough pre and post-trip inspections of the vehicle in compliance with local regulations.
  • Maintain the bus's operational readiness by adhering to fueling and maintenance protocols.
  • Submit timely reports as required by departmental guidelines.
  • Participate in all mandatory safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Operate the bus in accordance with local laws and safety policies, ensuring a secure environment for all passengers.
  • Uphold cleanliness standards for the bus, both inside and out, as per transportation procedures.
  • Conduct emergency drills and report any incidents or delays promptly.
  • Enforce the Transportation Code of Conduct and manage student behavior effectively.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Educational Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers and administrators in delivering a high-quality instructional program.
  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Assist students with special needs, ensuring they receive appropriate support.
  • Help prepare instructional materials and assist in classroom management.
  • Supervise students in various settings, including classrooms and during school activities.
  • Communicate effectively with students and staff to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development activities aligned with school goals.
  • Demonstrate ethical behavior and maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
  • Build cooperative relationships with all stakeholders, including parents and staff.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possession of a valid CDL License.
  • Georgia Paraprofessional Certificate.

Prior experience with positive feedback from previous employers is preferred.
