Veterinary Oncologist

DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital is a non-profit, AAHA-accredited, VECCS Level 1 emergency and specialty hospital dedicated to providing exceptional care to animals with cancer.

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Oncologist to join our team. As an Oncologist at DoveLewis, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of specialists, including an oncology surgeon, to build and grow our Oncology service.

• Provide exceptional care to animals with cancer, working closely with our emergency and critical care teams
• Develop and implement treatment plans, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery
• Collaborate with our medical leadership team, referring veterinarians, and clients to provide comprehensive care
• Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in oncology
• Contribute to the growth and development of our Oncology service, including building our initial caseload and consulting with our ER and ICU teams

We are a teaching hospital with 6 AAHA-accredited services and growing quickly. Our hospital is equipped with the latest technology, including a GE Vivid E9, EchoPAC software, fluoroscopy, digital radiography, ultrasound, 3 Tesla MRI, and 64-slice CT.

We have a team of 14+ board-certified veterinary specialists in Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Cardiology, and Radiology, and soon oncology. Our veterinarians have the ability to focus more on the pet with help from our 200+ teammates, including 5+ Veterinary Technician Specialists, and dedicated support staff.

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited school of veterinary medicine or certification through ECFVG
• Current DACVIM (Oncology) board-certified or board eligible
• Ability to be licensed in the state of Oregon
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working effectively with patients, families, and colleagues
