Key Responsibilities- Prescription Management: Efficiently enter and process new and refill prescription orders while upholding productivity and quality benchmarks.
- Order Fulfillment: Accurately prepare patient orders by selecting and retrieving the correct medications, confirming quantities, and generating prescription labels.
- Collaboration with Pharmacists: Forward orders to the pharmacist for final verification and clarification as necessary.
- Data Entry: Ensure precise data entry into the pharmacy's computer system to facilitate the generation of essential documentation.
- Supply Management: Select appropriate supplies and ancillary items based on medication requirements and patient preferences.
- Patient Communication: Engage with patients, caregivers, and prescribers to obtain refill authorizations and necessary information for completing patient profiles.
- Claims Processing: Handle pharmacy claims, troubleshoot rejections, and liaise with insurance providers as needed.
- Inventory Support: Assist in purchasing, inventory control, and equipment management as required.
- Shipping Coordination: Ensure client-specific materials are correctly paired with orders and prepare them for shipment.
- Workstation Maintenance: Clean and replenish the dispensing area and workstation supplies at the end of each shift.
- Customer Service: Deliver exceptional service to both patients and internal stakeholders.
Experience: A minimum of three to five years in a pharmacy setting is preferred. Familiarity with drug terminology and specialty pharmacy services is essential.
Skills: Proficient in intermediate pharmaceutical calculations, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to HIPAA regulations. Active participation in quality assurance processes is expected.
EducationHigh School diploma or GED is required.
