Position Summary:
The Head Chef is accountable for overseeing the daily kitchen operations and serves as the primary leader on a day-to-day basis, supervising all food preparation staff. This pivotal role is essential for fostering motivation and productivity within the culinary team. The Head Chef reports directly to the Executive Chef.

Key Responsibilities:
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing and sourcing all items for the restaurant and bar menus
- Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff
- Consistently monitoring kitchen inventory
- Maintaining food quality and ensuring guest satisfaction
- Collaborating closely with the Executive Chef on menu development and recipe standardization
- Assisting in managing overall food and labor costs
- Ensuring compliance with all Palmetto Club standards and expectations
- Recruiting staff and evaluating their performance
- Executing all food production and plating efficiently, exceeding member expectations
- Staying informed about culinary trends and continuously seeking improvement
- Scheduling kitchen personnel and ensuring timely posting of schedules
- Monitoring the maintenance and condition of kitchen equipment
- Ensuring kitchen operations adhere to state and federal health and safety regulations
- Collaborating with other property culinary directors to meet all banqueting requirements
Qualifications Required:
- Culinary school graduate or equivalent training is required
- A minimum of three years' experience as a senior chef in a comparable hotel setting
- Experience in implementing new food concepts and menus
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and perform well under time constraints
- Must possess all necessary safety certifications
- Thorough knowledge of public health regulations
Physical Requirements:
- Constant standing and walking throughout the shift
- Occasional exposure to cold, heat, and water
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 35 pounds regularly
