Dental Hygienist

Marin Community Clinics is seeking a highly skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we provide vital health services to almost 40,000 individuals annually in Marin County.
Job Summary:The Registered Dental Hygienist will support our Dental Clinics with a wide range of duties, including patient screening, digital x-rays, calculus and plaque removal, and preventive materials application. The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical and communication skills, be proficient in taking digital x-rays, and have the ability to work in an under-served community health setting.
Responsibilities:- Perform patient screening procedures, including assessment of oral health conditions, review of health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, dental charting, and taking blood pressure and pulse.
- Take digital x-rays.
- Remove calculus and plaque from all surfaces of the teeth.
- Apply preventive materials to the teeth, such as sealants and fluorides.
- Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health.
- Counsel patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health.
- Make impressions of patients' teeth for study casts.
- Perform documentation and office management activities.
- Assist the lead RDA with allowable duties and the management team as needed.
- Treat both adult and pediatric populations.
- Collaborate with the dental team on various functions, including dental assisting tasks.
- Active California State Registered Dental Hygienist license.
- Experience in Epic Electronic Health Records preferred.
- Current CPR certification required.
